God of War Ragnarök: How To Find Tyr

After completing the main story of God of War: Ragnarok, players can find Tyr in different realms after releasing him (again) from his prison.


The Norse god of war Tyr plays a key role in this God of War: Ragnarok, and many players will try to find him and then find him again. Although he does travel with Kratos and Atreus for a time after the game’s second chapter, this does not remain the case.


Players should be aware that this article contains a major spoiler for the game’s main story, so be careful.

Players who fought God of War: Ragnaroks Final boss, Odin will know that old One-Eye disguised himself as Tyr, gathering information and manipulating everyone for his own purposes. But this revelation means that the Tyr they traveled with wasn’t the real deal, and so the question “Where is he?” remains. for the player to respond. The answer is Niflheim.

Where is Tyr in God of War Ragnarok?

Tyr, the real Tyr, resides in the Aesir Prison Wreck in the cold Land of the Dead. The player can find this location by going to the Raven Tree during the game’s epilogue and then going down the left path that also leads the player to one of Niflheim’s hidden Nornir chests, so he should grab it when passing through. After making it to the end of the prison, the player will find Tyr alive but locked in a prison from which he can be freed. Once complete, he can be found in six of the different realms God of War: Ragnarok. Check the table below for more details.

Vanaheim

Over by the river in Freyr’s camp where he can give Freya some wisdom.

Helheim

Through the mystical gate of Hel’s Perch, which communicates with Hraesvelgr, the great eagle. It cannot be interacted with.

alfheim

On the cliff overlooking The Strönd, near the Temple of Light. He has some thoughts about Freyr. This location is also a good time for the player to collect missing Alfheim artifacts.

Midgard

On a small hill in the frozen Lake of Nine, northeast of Tyr’s Temple. He will ask to be left alone with his thoughts.

Svartalfheim

At the watchtower overlooking the liberated Lyngbakr. He will share a few words about the whale with Mimir.

Muspelheim

At the very edge of the Burning Cliffs, where Surtr was thrown into the Spark of the World. He’s curious about what happened here.
