Google Pixel 6a is even cheaper with a $150 discount

All-new smartphones from Samsung and OnePlus have been pre-ordered this week with some starter savings, but for those who just want to skip the high-end feature sets for something more affordable, the Google Pixel 6a has got your back. This more affordable handset already hits the palatable $449 price tag any other day, but it’s now falling to an all-time low. Now on sale for $299 Courtesy of Amazon, see a 33% savings alongside a comparison to the best price ever. It’s the lowest level we’ve seen since the holiday shopping season, and it’s still one of the first times it’s fallen that low.

Google Pixel 6a is the brand’s latest budget-friendly phone, taking a slightly more affordable approach than last year’s 7/Pro phones. At the heart of the experience is still the same Google Tensor chipset with a 6.1-inch FHD+ 60Hz display, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. You can also expect 24 hours of battery life, as well as all the usual photo features packed into the 12MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide lenses on the rear. Our hands-on review also offers a better idea of what to expect.

Acer’s latest Chromebook Spin 714 includes Thunderbolt 4

Best Buy is now offering the latest Acer Chromebook Spin 714 $499. This is typically only the third significant discount since it launched last May, and it brings in $729. That comes with a savings of $230. This returns to the second best price set only once before and is within $20 of the all-time low. Matching one of Acer’s latest Chromebooks, you’ll find a number of notable inclusions, led by a 14-inch 2K display supported by a folding-hinge form factor that the Spin series is known for. Alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, you’ll also find an Intel Evo Core i5 under the hood, not to mention the 11-hour battery life. Acer doesn’t skimp on the I/Os either, with Thunderbolt 4 complemented by HDMI, microSD, and Wi-Fi 6. Find out more in our hands-on review of the previous generation model.

Also benefiting from the savings today, the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 offers a similar package to the main offering for less. It’s a slightly less powerful build, but it’s now stripped down to $349 at Best Buy for the usual price of $549. That’s $200 in savings and marks the best price we’ve seen after going on sale for the first time. Detailed in our hands-on review, this model offers a 2-in-1 form factor based around a 14-inch 1080p display with touchscreen capabilities. While there’s no Thunderbolt connectivity like the lead deal, you’ll find three USB-C slots, an HDMI output, and a classic USB-A slot.

Google’s Nest Learning Thermostat helps regulate winter temperatures

Woot via Amazon is now offering its first chance to save on Google’s latest flagship smart thermostat in months. The Nest Learning Thermostat normally costs $249, but now you can bring this accessory to your Assistant smart home $197. This is the first opportunity to save since Black Friday, with today’s deal beating that mention by about $2 as well. It’s the lowest price we’ve seen since the Thanksgiving week shopping event, and the second best discount yet.

Winter weather continues to rage across much of the country, only to be accompanied by erratically rising temperatures that make controlling the climate in your home all the more troublesome. The Nest Learning Thermostat steps in to take the guesswork out of the equation, packing plenty of smart features as well as assistant integration into one of the more aesthetically pleasing form factors on the market. It also combines this with a touchscreen display at the center of the design to complete the voice and smartphone controls and round out the power savings.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23/+/Ultra see launch offers

Last week Samsung unveiled its new lineup of Galaxy smartphones, and now Amazon’s discounts aren’t too far behind. Courtesy of the retailer, all three versions of the new unlocked 5G handsets are currently bundled with gift cards worth up to $100 to lure shoppers who don’t plan to upgrade with a carrier promotion or trade in a device. From the collection, our favorite is of course the flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra for $1,200 with a $100 gift certificate attached. In addition to the additional $100 credit that can be spent at Amazon, the retailer is discounting the 512GB capacity to the same price as the lower 256GB model. This saves you a total of $280 and is one of the best unlocked deals.

Samsung’s latest S23 Ultra flagship comes with a similar design to last year’s versions, just with some notable tweaks under the hood. Surrounding the updated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is also a 6.8-inch QHD+ 120Hz panel and support for the oh-so-popular S Pen stylus, which can be tucked away inside the handset. One on-screen adjustment that’s greatly appreciated is the significantly flatter screen curve compared to the previous S22 Ultra. There’s also 512GB of storage, a 200MP quad-camera array, and 5G connectivity.

Just like the main store, all three different Galaxy S23 devices not only come bundled with gift cards for Amazon, but also come with increased storage capacities that offer discounts up to entry-level prices.

Save up to 37% on Anker PowerExtend power strips starting at $12

As the work week draws to a close, Anker is now introducing a range of discounts on its popular power strips, wall faucets and surge protectors. Through the official Amazon storefront, prices start at $12 and everything comes with free shipping for Prime members or orders over $25. Our favorite of the batch this time is the Anker PowerExtend USB-C Plug 3 Cube $19. Starting at $30, you’ll see a $11 saving alongside the best discount we’ve seen so far. It’s $2 down on our previous mention from last fall and the first drop in over 2 months.

Realizing a compact design that plugs right into the wall, this is a remarkable way to streamline the nightstand or desk with three full AC outlets. Add to that a pair of 2.4A USB-A ports, and the real star of the show is a 30W USB-C output. This makes it able to complete your entire setup, be it MacBook, Chromebook, smartphone or any other gear in your daily carry.

Beats Flex with Apple’s W1 chip comes in several fun colors for $50

After all-time lows on the flagship Beats Fit Pro range went live last week, Amazon is now offering some discounts on the more affordable Beats Flex. Arriving with the same training focus, these wireless earbuds are available now at $50 across multiple styles. Normally fetching $70 saves you $20 and is the best price we’ve seen since November. This matches the holiday prices we saw in December and is the first opportunity to save since.

Ready to handle anything from the occasional listen to joining in on all those start-of-the-year workouts, Beats Flex features a neck-worn design that includes an in-line mic with playback controls. Also of note is Apple’s W1 chip, which allows for fast pairing as well as up to 12 hours of playback on a single charge. Added water and sweat resistance are also a nice touch. We reviewed the experience at launch, which provides additional insight into what to expect. And at today’s price, these are some of the best values for a pair of earbuds in the Apple ecosystem, especially with the W1 chip built in.
