aney vs. Lomachenko LIVE!
Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko engage in a massive, undisputed battle for the world title tonight in Las Vegas. The legendary MGM Grand is the setting for another lightweight blockbuster, with all belts up for grabs by 135 pounds in what promises to be a terrific main event and fascinating clash of styles in boxing’s premier division.
Haney is the favorite as he defends all four belts for the second time. He became the first undisputed lightweight king of modern times by defeating George Kambosos Jr. in Australia last summer and later claiming victory in a rematch. Now he could have his sights set on blockbuster bouts with the likes of Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Shakur Stevenson, but first needs to take care of business in a crucial test against Lomachenko, the former pound-for-pound superstar who made it to the finals could create Chance Saloon as he tries to finally recover from the shock defeat to Teofimo Lopez in 2020.
Tonight’s undercard features Andrew Moloney and Junto Nakatani fighting for the vacant WBO Super Flyweight title. Oscar Valdez returns against Adam Lopez while exciting youngster Raymond Muratalla takes on Jeremiah Nakathila after Nico Ali Walsh drew against Danny Rosenberger. Next is Andrew Moloney versus Juno Nakatani
Up next at the MGM Grand is the vacant WBO Super Flyweight World Championship!
The 25-2-1 strong Australian Andrew Moloney will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his twin brother Jason who became the WBO Bantamweight World Champion just last weekend in Stockton by defeating Vincent Astrolabio.
He meets undefeated 24-0 (18 KOs) Junto Nakatani in a battle between two former world champions.
Nakatani held the WBO flyweight title before giving up and moving up last year, while Moloney is the former WBA super flyweight champion of the world.
This should be a great fight.
Nico Ali Walsh vs. Danny Rosenberger
77-75 Rosenberger, 77-75 Ali Walsh, 76-76 – it’s a tied tie!
Wow.
The audience is not satisfied with this result.
Ali Walsh’s consecutive winning streak ends at eight despite remaining undefeated at 8-0-1.
There’s no question Rosenberger performed well there and certainly threw off a few shots, but Ali Walsh certainly had the edge.
I wonder if we’ll see it again sooner rather than later. A bit of early drama to kick off the Las Vegas main card!
Nico Ali Walsh vs. Danny Rosenberger
round 8
More exciting close-up action in heat eight, both men feeling the pace and looking tired.
Success for any fighter in these heated arguments, but the busier Ali Walsh lands the cleaner shots and certainly cuts better.
He makes eight rounds for the first time in his career and should be expected, although he did suffer some big throws at times in a heated showdown.
He will have learned a lot from it.
At the final bell, both men raise their hands and we wait for the jury’s scorecards…

Ali Walsh will want a strong finish to ensure he pulls this off as comfortably as he desires.
Nico Ali Walsh vs. Danny Rosenberger
round 7
Ali Walsh has lost his rhythm a bit and is now struggling to hold on to the very dodgy Rosenberger who has only gained confidence over the last few laps.
His movements are very good again and he keeps pushing and throwing at the body.
But here comes Ali Walsh at the end of the seventh round, landing both head and body while Rosenberger is caught on the ropes.
Rosenberger shoots straight back in another very lively end of the round, trying to let go of his own hands while Ali Walsh also leaned back on the ropes.
Really good crap that. Lots of entertainment and needle.
Nico Ali Walsh vs. Danny Rosenberger
round 6
A highly entertaining sixth – best round of the fight so far.
And certainly the best for Rosenberger, who actually starts and finishes the lap very well.
He keeps talking down Ali Walsh and explodes with a few short punches from all sorts of unexpected angles.
After the bell rings, tempers heat up and Ali Walsh looks very frustrated as he trudges back to his corner.

round 5
There was no lack of drive and determination from Rosenberger, who managed to cut Ali Walsh’s work from the inside and landed a couple of counterattacks early in the fifth half.
But Ali Walsh is undeterred and gets back to work, restoring the jab and effectively slicing the ring while continuing to charge at his opponent.
What a conclusion to Rosenberger’s fifth round – his best performance of the fight yet as he fires off a series of venomous shots that land well.
Ali Walsh is in control, but a word of warning not to get too confident.
Nico Ali Walsh vs. Danny Rosenberger
It goes into the second half of this eight-round tournament.
Can Nico Ali Walsh take his sixth career break here and come back 9-0?
He certainly has every cartridge in the sack so far.

round 4
A superb counter-left hook from Ali Walsh lands flush early in the fourth round after Rosenberger’s attempted uppercut misses the target.
He then uses both hands to unload the body while Rosenberger is caught in the ropes.
Rosenberger’s movement has slowed dramatically, his energy clearly drained since that malicious attack, he’s leaning on the ropes again and Ali Walsh is making him pay for it – his speaking trumpet flying through the air.
An injured Rosenberger comes out with momentum, but is blocked very effectively in the fourth round.

round 3
To his credit, Rosenberger threw in a left-side shot early in the third and thundered a couple of them.
But Ali Walsh quickly gets his back working again and follows up with his right hand.
A nice lead from the right by Ali Walsh equalized with a minute left.
Rosenberger dodges when Ali Walsh tries to corner him. His moves are good but he hasn’t gotten his timing right so far and is trying to get some overhand rights early in the round.
His defense isn’t bad, but he’s only fired 11 shots so far…
