If you’ve seen Squid Game and thought, “Hey, I’m good at this,” then now’s your chance to get in on the action.
The South Korean survival drama achieved astronomical success after its release on Netflix in September 2021 and recently made history with a whopping 14 Emmy nominations.
With now-award-winning actor Lee Jung-jae playing the lead role of gambler 456 Seong Gi-hun, the show pitted cash-strapped contestants against one another in brutal reinterpretations of classic playground games.
After shocking viewers and bringing the likes of HoYeon Jung to worldwide fame, the creators of Squid Game are now giving ordinary people a chance to be a part of an extraordinary reality series – with a mega cash prize.
How to apply for spin-off reality series Squid Game: The Challenge
Squid Game: The Challenge has been described by Netflix as “the greatest reality competition series ever,” with the largest cast and biggest cash prize in reality television history, with 456 players grossing $4.56 million (March 3). .9 million pounds) fight.
The games will be inspired by those in the real show, as well as some new additions, all designed to test skill, endurance, speed and strategy.
Recruitment for the series is currently open to English speakers from around the world and you can visit SquidGameCasting.com to apply.
The streaming giant announced its final casting call on September 17th (Saturday), meaning this is your last chance to put your name forward and fill out the application form.
A creepy teaser video posted to YouTube showed the iconic green tracksuits being ironed and matches being assembled, when a mystery spokesman asked: “Do you want to play a game?”
“This is your last chance to participate. We’ve already selected hundreds of players from all over the world, but there’s still room for more, maybe even you,” the voice continued.
“The prize to be won is $4.56 million, but the losers will go home empty-handed. how will you play the game tell us Time is running out.’
Oh, and in case it wasn’t clear, this reality show isn’t expecting it kill someone like the OG series.
Is there a release date?
Squid Game: The Challenge doesn’t currently have a release date and it might be some time before we get one as production hasn’t started yet and the final contestants are still being recruited.
But hopefully it won’t be long before the excitement of the series grabs us again.
Is Squid Game Season 2 Coming Out?
Season 2 of Squid Game was officially confirmed by Netflix in June 2022, but it was revealed in May that we might still have to wait a while.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk shared an update on the second part, saying that there are only about three pages of ideas for the script so far, and claimed he can’t reveal much about the plot at this point.
However, he said fans should expect the new series to land in 2023 or 2024.
