But what really makes the camels in Minecraft special is their ability allow two players to drive at the same time. Aside from camels, this ability in Minecraft is only limited to rafts and boats.
But even if you don’t want to ride these beautiful desert creatures, they’re still a worthy addition to your Minecraft house ideas. What do camels eat in Minecraft?
Just like in the real world, cacti are the main ingredient of Camel’s meal. They are exclusive to them desert biome and are easily breakable with bare hands or with any tool. We recommend you use an ax to avoid damage from the cactus.
Also, like we’ve done with other mobs in the past, you’ll need to use their main food source (the cactus) to breed camels in Minecraft. So if you come across them, make sure you do Collect at least two cacti. If a camel is nearby, it will follow you while you hold the cactus.
How to find camels in Minecraft
It is well known that camels have been domesticated for decades at this point. So in the real world it’s pretty rare to find them in deserts, far from civilization. The same goes for the game too. That Camels only spawn in and around desert villages in Minecraft. You can’t find them in a desert biome that doesn’t have a village. This makes camels one of the most challenging mobs to find in the overworld. Luckily, you only need two camels to make unlimited numbers by breeding them.

Or you can use lead to tie it to a fence or similar blocks. Not to forget, you can also use cacti to make the camel follow you to the desired spot.
How to breed camels in Minecraft
Now that you know the basic mechanics of camels, it’s time to create more of them. So, follow these steps to breed camels in Minecraft:
1. First, Find two camels and place them next to each other. Camels don’t usually migrate. But as an extra precaution, you can either erect a fence around them or tie down the towed camels with lead.
2. Then, feed each camel a piece of cactus by right-clicking on it or using the secondary action button. When they’re fed, you’ll see hearts crackle over the camels’ heads. After that, they both approach each other and within seconds a baby camel appears.
3. Once the baby camel appears, the parents will be unbreedable for almost 10 minutes. Likewise, it takes about 15-20 minutes for the baby camel to grow into an adult. Then you can also use the new camel for breeding.
