How to Cancel Your Netflix Subscription on iPhone, iPad, and Desktop

With the cost of living rising, more and more people are looking for ways to cut their expenses, and one of the main reasons people have turned away from Netflix is that the service has increased its prices.
In January 2022, Netflix increased the prices of all of its plans: the standard definition basic plan went from $8.99 to $9.99, the standard HD plan went from $13.99 to $15.49, and the 4K Ultra plan went from $8.99 to $9.99 $17.99 to $19.99.
Netflix also recently said it’s working to monetize the 100+ million homes that “currently enjoy Netflix but don’t pay directly for it.” In other words, sharing passwords between households could soon be a thing of the past.
Whatever your reason for terminating the service, you are not alone. Netflix lost 1.3 million subscribers in the United States and Canada in the second quarter of 2022. Keep in mind that Netflix is working on a cheaper ad-supported tier due to launch in early 2023, but until then you can cancel the service here if you’ve had enough.
How to Cancel Netflix on iPhone and iPad
If you signed up for Netflix with your Apple ID on your “iPhone” or “iPad” when you could, you’ll need to cancel your subscription this way.
- start the settings App on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap yours Apple ID banner Profile at the top of the menu.
- Beat subscriptions.
- Choose Netflix in the displayed list.
- Choose cancel subscription, and then confirm at the dialog prompt. Note that the cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Note that as per Apple’s policies, your membership may renew if you cancel your subscription no more than 24 hours before your renewal date.
How to cancel Netflix on the web
- Using Safari or another browser, go to the Netflix website on your iOS device or desktop computer.
- Sign in, then tap the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner of the webpage and select Account.
- If necessary, scroll down and select cancel membership. If you are using an “iPad” or desktop browser, the option will appear in the top left corner of the browser window.
- Note when the cancellation will take effect, and then select complete termination.
Netflix says that if a customer chooses to resubscribe within 10 months of terminating the service, their profiles, favorites, settings, and account details are still recoverable.
