How To Change Google Maps Voice?

With a built-in navigation voice in Google Maps, it was more convenient for us to navigate through routes to reach our destination. However, if it differs from your native language, you may not understand the card’s voice clearly. Or you’re tired of hearing the same voice over and over again.

In this case you might want to change the Maps voice. Luckily, Google Maps has the default settings to change the voice. So, in this article, we will guide you through how to do it with simple steps.

How do I change the Google Maps voice?

On Google Maps you will find the default option to change language selection or language search depending on your device. This setting allows you to change the navigation voice to your preferred language. However, there are currently no settings to change the voice tone.

There are several ways you can change the voice on Google Maps. You can set it in the Google Maps settings or in the device settings. Check out the steps for that below.

From the Google Maps settings

If you’re using the Google Maps app, you can change the voice through Settings or Navigation Preferences. After changing the voice, you can restart Google Maps.

You can follow the steps given below.

On android

Launch the Google Maps app
Hover over yours profile icon at top right
Choose settings > navigation settings
Under Sound & Voice, tap on voice selection
Select yours from the voice lists Preferred language possibility

On iOS

Go to the Google Maps app
Tap yours in the top right profile symbol
Choose settings
Under Use Maps, select voice search
Tap the Preferred Language

Change a region/language settings

If you don’t use the Google Maps app, you can change a region’s settings on the Google Maps website. In a PC browser, you can find the language menu for changing the voice via the menu icon with three horizontal lines on the left. Then you can click on the desired language to change the app’s navigation voice.

You can also change the region settings in a PC browser. Similarly, on mobile, you can swipe the language below to change it.

On the phone

Start on your Chrome/Safari Google Maps
Swipe up from the bottom to expand the menu
Scroll down and tap language name
From the Language menu, select the language you want
Beat Apply top right

On the PC

Launch the Google Maps website on your device
Now click at the bottom name of the country
You will be redirected region settings
Choose from the lists a country to change the language
Click on Save on computer

Customize the device language

Another way to change the Google Maps voice is to adjust your device’s language. It affects the voice language on your Google Maps.

Below we have compiled the steps for both iPhone and Android. However, the steps for Android may differ slightly depending on the device model.

On iPhone

Open settings
Go to General > language and region
Tap on iPhone language
Select your desired language and confirm your selection
Wait for your system to update. Then you can open it Google Maps apartment

On android

Tap on Languages
Choose your preferred one language

How to change Apple Map voice?

The voice used in Apple Maps is Siri’s voice. Therefore, you can change Siri’s voice and language in your Apple device’s settings for a different voice on Maps. Depending on the language, you have different voice preferences, including male and female. Once you’ve set your desired voice, your Apple Maps should use the same voice when navigating.
