To purchase something from the retailer, you will need either a credit card, debit card or gift card on file. And with Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale running October 11-13, make sure your payment details are up to date.
Whether you’ve canceled a card, switched bank accounts, or decided you don’t want to use a particular card online, it’s worth knowing how to delete a credit or debit card from your Amazon account. The steps are different depending on whether you’re using your desktop browser, an Android or iPhone app, or a mobile browser. How to delete an Amazon credit or debit card from your desktop browser
Many people find that the online shopping experience is always that little bit easier on a desktop PC. The best way to access Amazon on your PC is to visit the website in your favorite browser. If this is your preferred online shopping method, follow these steps to remove your debit or credit card:
- Visit Amazon’s website in the browser and log in.
- Click in the top right corner Accounts & Lists to open the account page.
- click Your payment.
- Under Wallet, select the debit card that you want to remove from the account. The information of the map is displayed on the right side.
- click To edit to display a dialog for editing your payment method.
- Click in the lower-left corner of the dialog box Remove from wallet.
- To confirm your choice, click Remove.
A confirmation will appear at the top of the page stating “Your payment method has been successfully removed.”
How to delete an Amazon credit or debit card on the Android and iOS apps
If your favorite way to shop at Amazon is on your mobile phone, the Android and iOS apps have the same account features as the desktop site. If you want to use the Amazon app to delete a card from your account, follow the steps below:
- Tap the Menu symbol in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Tap on the pop-up menu Account.
- Scroll down to payments Section.
- Beat Your payment.
- Select the card you want to remove.
- Tap on the right side To edit.
- Tap below Remove from wallet.
- Tap on the confirmation screen Remove.
A confirmation will appear at the top of the page stating “Your payment method has been successfully removed.”
How to delete an Amazon credit or debit card in the mobile browser
Not everyone wants to install an app for every online service they use. If this is you, visit Amazon’s website in your mobile browser. You will still have access to account features. You can remove your debit or credit card using the following steps:
- Tap your account name in the top-right corner.
- Next to the your account Header, tap See everything.
- Scroll down to payments Section.
- Beat Your payment.
- Select the card you want to remove.
- Tap on the right side To edit.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Remove from wallet.
- Tap on the confirmation screen Remove.
You’ll see a confirmation at the top of the page that says “Your payment method has been successfully removed.”
