How To Download ‘Overwatch 2’ For Free On All Platforms
Overwatch 2 is now live.
In case you missed the memo, surveillance 2 is live now! If you weren’t able to pre-download the game (new players had to wait for launch anyway), here’s how to install it on PC and consoles.
If you still have surveillance 1 on your system, surveillance 2 will be installed by itself if you have automatic updates enabled. Otherwise go to over watch game tile on your console or the over watch page on Battle.net, open the options menu and select “Check for Updates” (language may vary slightly by platform).
No matter what platform you want to play on, you need a Battle.net account. If needed, you can create one here. You must add a valid mobile phone number to your account in order to play surveillance 2 More information here:
Console players must link their PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account to Battle.net. You can do this either in-game after downloading it or on the web. Blizzard has a useful support article that explains the process.
This is important because several people have asked me about it. You don’t have to buy the $40 surveillance 2 Watchpoint Pack to play the game. surveillance 2 is free to play.
The Watchpoint Bundle includes access to Season 1 Premium Battle Pass ($10 value), 7 Legendary skins (including 2 new Space Raider skins), 5 Epic skins, 2,000 Overwatch Coins ($20 value). ) and one surveillance 2 player icon.
Download Overwatch 2 on PC
Before installation surveillance 2, be sure to check the system specs to ensure your PC is compatible. Find them here:
- If you haven’t already, download the Battle.net Launcher from the Blizzard website. This link should start the download.
- Follow the steps to install the launcher.
- Sign in with your Battle.net credentials.
- Go to surveillance 2 Side.
- Click Install.
surveillance 2 is about a 50GB download on PC. To maximize download speed, click the Battle.net icon in the top left of the launcher, then select Settings. On the Downloads tab, uncheck the Limit Download Bandwidth option. It’s probably a good idea to make sure no one is on a Zoom call on your WiFi before doing so.

Download Overwatch 2 on PS4 and PS5
Search for surveillance 2 on your PS4 or PS5 or in the PlayStation Store. I will add a direct link here when the site is online. You can also download it to your console from the PS app.
Download Overwatch 2 on Xbox
Search for surveillance 2 on your Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S. You can also download it to your console from the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app.
Download Overwatch 2 on Nintendo Switch
Search for surveillance 2 in your Nintendo Switch Store or in the Nintendo eShop. I’ll add a direct link to the free-to-play page once it’s available.

Download Overwatch 2 on Steam Deck
I’m impatiently waiting for my Steam Deck to show up. You can bet what I do with it first (after a round or two of Vampire Survivor) is to be installed surveillance 2. I obviously haven’t been able to install the game on Steam Deck personally yet, so I can’t guide you through the process.
However, another journalist was able to set up the game on his Steam deck. While this YouTube video they consulted focuses on it surveillance 1 Installation, you should be able to follow the same process to get surveillance 2 on your Steam deck. I hope it helps!
