How To Evolve Sync Pairs In Pokemon Masters EX
Pokemon Masters EX is a slightly more accurate representation of the classic Pokemon games available on mobile. However, unlike other Pokémon games, Masters offers a unique battle experience where each team consists of three Pokémon and their trainer. Trainers also have moves they can use, much like their Pokemon. This will make some weaker Pokemon stronger and vice versa.
This guide focuses solely on the sync pairs that you can evolve by completing certain tasks, as some trainers start with unevolved Pokemon. It’s important to note that not every partner Pokemon can evolve, but there is a large group that can.
Which Pokemon can be evolved?

Each of the Pokemon listed can evolve into its final form. For example, Barry’s piplup will eventually evolve into Empoleon and not get stuck as a sad prinplup.
Not only is the list of Pokémon that can evolve different from any other game in the series, but the way the Pokémon evolve is also completely different.
How do Pokemon evolve?
While the evolution system in Pokemon Masters differs from the mainline games, it’s still somewhat familiar. It also requires your Pokemon to reach certain levels before it can evolve, but the twist is that each Pokemon evolves at the same level.
Single-evolved Pokémon, like Seel in Dewgong, evolve once at level 30. Two-evolved Pokémon, like Chikorita in Bayleef and then Meganium, must reach level 45 for their second evolution. Although the level goal for most Pokemon is much higher compared to their usual levels, having them all evolve at the same level makes it much easier to keep track of them.
Once an eligible Pokémon has reached the Evolution level, you’ll unlock a special Trainer Battle. This can only be started when you have five Evolution Shards, which can only be purchased through the in-game shop for the coins you earn from battles.
Your first bundle of five shards costs 1,000 coins, but each additional purchase after that costs more and more coins – so choose your first evolution carefully! To evolve a Pokémon a second time, you’ll need to buy three Evolution Crystals instead. These initially cost you 5,000 coins before the price increases drastically.
preparation for battle
As mentioned above, just leveling up your Pokemon is not enough. You must also beat a trainer in battle for the evolution to complete. None of the evolution battles are easy and should be properly prepared.
It is recommended to be level 35-40 for the first fight to ensure you have a fair chance. However, for Pokémon that evolve twice, you’ll need to fight a trainer for each evolution – and the second stage evolution battles are much more difficult. The game recommends that you should be around level 45 for combat, but even at that level it can prove to be quite a challenge. A few more hours of grinding might help you get through it with ease.
After defeating the trainer and winning the battle, your Pokémon will begin to evolve, giving it new abilities and much more strength. You can now show off your evolved Pokémon and level up on your way to becoming a champion!
