How To Find Out LeChuck’s Favorite Food, Theme Song, And Catchphrase In Return To Monkey Island
It did not last long Return to Monkey Island to actually take you to the island of the same name, right? This act is a bit short, but there are still many puzzles to solve and new areas to explore.
And did you think you were done interacting with the evil ship’s crew? Certainly not. They stay a little longer to help – whether they realize it or not. Here’s how you can help Guybrush make his way through life because only he knows how.
Find the secret of Monkey Island
You will begin this act under water – You have to be quick move to the right, with your remaining time counting down each time you switch screens. But don’t worry, you’ll reach Monkey Island soon enough!
Ah, it’s good to be back.
Take a breather on the beach. If you Examine the tree on the left;you may eventually come to an enlightenment about the heart scratched into it. Kick the tree five times for a performance.
Keep going left and examine the skull; on the ground. It’s not Murray, but Guybrush will pick it up anyway. Now move to the jungle at the back of the screen, which will take you to the Monkey Island overworld map.
There are a few places you can go – Check out the red berry bush first by the river. It’s the first step on the map to the mystery.
The next step asks you to follow that big stone hand – take the right exit from this screen to do so. Next you must Follow the path north past the wooden chickenand then right past the bees and next to the…helpful but misspelled sign.
This familiar sight is very, very obviously a trap. Try to Pick up the shovel in the middle of the screen and Guybrush gets caught. The next scene contains some important revelations, so listen carefully! What matters is that you find out that Captain Madison has the real map of the secret, but it’s encrypted, and she’s recruiting you to help her decrypt it.

One thing leads to another and you will end up Cooperation with the pirate leaders since Guybrush is the only one capable of boarding LeChuck’s ship, this tells you the three requirements for deciphering the map.
For now though, it’s time to explore Monkey Island a little more!
- Go up to top of the mountain. There is one more skull Here, pick it up.

- There is also a skull on volcanic beach near driftwood.
- Finally there is one skull on the way to the giant monkey head.
Walk while you are at the giant monkey head Chat with your new “teammates” and also the indeed Murray skull on the right side of the screen. While you’re there, pick up the arm bone on the ground near the wooden spikes.
If you talk to the pirate leaders, it will turn out that you can get one of them to do it Cast a disguise spell on youbut you must find one secret possession of one of LeChuck’s teammates to achieve that.
How to get a secret possession from one of LeChuck’s crew members

Gullet will be satisfied with these answers and will complete his first volume of poetry.
He won’t just give you the book for free though – give him the business card from which you received Konrad all the way back to the first act and Gullet will happily hand over the book.
Book in hand, return to the giant monkey head and give it to the pirate leaders. The book of poems becomes a book of disguise with which you can adopt a new look.
Leave the area and go back to the ship – You can just click on the ship instead of Volcano Beach to take a shortcut. Recite the poem before climbing up over the railing – as a gullet.
How to learn LeChuck’s catchphrase
Now that you’re on board, it’s time to find the three things you need to decode the map. If you ask Apple Bob about it, you’ll get a few clues: Apparently LeChuck’s catchphrase keeps changingis probably his favorite food something Putra doesand Flair is Gorey composes his new theme song.
Head down into the ship and then into LeChuck’s cabin. His is on the shelf to the right diary – Pick it up. examine it in your inventory to read – this way you can learn its keyword. The last entry that mentions a catchphrase is April 10 stating so LeChuck returned to the catchphrase he had on the 17th. Flipping back the pages reveals that the catchphrase is Plunder my blasphemous bilges.
How to learn LeChuck’s favorite food
When that’s done, go to the galley and chat with Putra. During the conversation, if the opportunity arises, Call her a cook. This will make her like you a little more and provide more information – for example, LeChuck’s favorite food. She will reveal that it is Tentacles with Daisy Saucebut she has no tentacles in the galley to cook it.

Flair will come up off the ship wondering what the vote is about – use this distraction to sneak back into the ship and grab the notes from the barrel To the left.
How to decipher the true map
It’s time to decipher the map and it’s up to you to follow the instructions. Go back to the giant monkey head and chat with the pirate guides.
The first thing you have to do is play LeChuck’s theme song, and yours instrument (sorry Murray!) is the makeshift xylophone made from the wooden poles To the right. First, Place a skull on each pole – You should have collected enough for each mission. Once all the skulls are on, Hit each of them on the head with the arm bone picked them up nearby and make a note of the notes they play. For example from left to right, our skulls made the following notes:

Examine the musical score you snagged from Flair – the tune reads:
Thu – Thu – Wed – Sol – Fa – Fa – Re
Conk the respective skulls with the arm bones in that order. Remember it Murray’s note is ‘Ra’the game will not emphasize this fact in its object label.
