How to Fix the Wireless Charging on Your Pixel

At this point, wireless charging is a basic feature of ours expect from smartphones. Whether you have an iPhone or an Android device, you know you can pop your dying device onto a Qi charger and see slow and steady results. However, it appears that Google accidentally ended wireless charging on its Pixels with a recent Android update. If your pixel is among those affected, rest assured she can fix it.

First, clear the cache on your Google Pixel Stand app by go to Settings > Storage > Other appsSelect the Pixel Stand app, then select “Clear cache.” Next, boot into safe mode by holding down the power button, long-pressing “Power off,” then selecting “Restart in safe mode.” Once your device boots back up, pair your pixel with your pixel stand. Then restart your phone to exit safe mode. Your Pixel should start charging wirelessly again.

Of course you shouldn’t to have to follow a convoluted series of steps to access a key feature of your smartphone experience. But that seems to be Google’s MO these days.
