How To Get All Amiibo Items

Originally, Nintendo introduced amiibo less than a year before the original Splatoon was released. The release of Splatoon brought with it a number of amiibo specialties and has since become one of the more prolific amiibo series with new amiibo for each game. While the amiibo for Splatoon 3 won’t be out until later this year, Splatoon 3 will have amiibo support for all releases and this guide will break down how to use them and how to get all the items for each version.

Different games use amiibo in different ways, but one of the most common is unlocking gear to use, just like in Splatoon 3. While sometimes this is only done through the pause menu, in Splatoon 3 you have to go to a specific location instead of using them .

How to use Amiibo in Splatoon 3

To use your amiibo in Splatoon 3 you must first go to Splatsville and position yourself at the end of the main stairwell that would lead you to the lobby. If you turn around from there, you’ll see a giant in-game amiibo box that looks exactly like a real amiibo would come with the purchase.

Now go to the amiibo box and press A to activate it, which will make the box bigger. At this point, plug the Splatoon amiibo you want to use onto the NFC port on your Joy-Con controller or Pro controller, and a digital representation of that amiibo will appear in the box.

However, these new amiibo you register will only give you one of the items you need. As a result, after registering the amiibo in your Splatoon 3 game, you will need to play a series of matches until it eventually provides you with all the items. If you’ve played enough games in the past with the amiibo registered for Splatoon or Splatoon 2, you’ll automatically receive all the items right away, so all you have to do is try them.

The only amiibo of the group that are duplicates are the two trio releases for the first Splatoon, as you don’t get any additional items after you’ve already scanned the first trio. Otherwise, once you’ve played enough matches after registering each amiibo, you’ll get three for everything else.
