How To Get Dalaran In WoW WotLK
Wondering how to get to Dalaran in WoW’s WotLK expansion? Here’s everything you need to know.
The recent Wrath of the Lich King extension one World of Warcraft: Classic contains an entire continent to explore. With each new expansion comes a new and exciting Sanctuary City where you and your fellow heroes and friends can meet, find new trainers, and do your daily shopping and repairs.
The city of mages and magic, Dalaran hovers over the equally majestic Crystalsong Forest, a zone at the center of the continent. Unlike Shattrath of the burning crusade, You can’t just walk in, because of Cold Weather Flying’s limitations and certain level requirements when it comes to portals.
If you are interested in lore, this was the city that was previously hidden beneath this large, bright pink dome on the south shore of Lake Lordamere.
Enchanted to hover over Northrend, it is now a sanctuary city that welcomes players of all factions.
Reach level 74
It’s possible to get to Dalaran before level 74, but it would have to be via a portal summoned by a mage or a summoning spell Courtesy of a warlock. There’s another catch here, because The teleportation spell for Dalaran is only available to mages of level 74 and above.
Northrend is designed with Dalaran as its central point, so by the time your character gets there they will have traveled at least the eastern or western half of the continent. Each zone on this frigid continent contains multiple quests and there are multiple new instances to run, so be sure to level up a few times when you ride into the Crystalsong Forest.
The magical kingdom of Dalaran
This is intended as the “Breadcrumb” quest that you can follow into Dalaran when you reach level 74but if you have already gone there via the Mage Portal or Warlock Summon and activated the Teleportation Stone, This quest is no longer available.
This is a quest that becomes available when you reach level 74, and ten NPCs have it, five for each faction. All of these quest givers are in Northrend, represent and are the magical users of the Kirin Tor are located in either Horde or Alliance outposts. All you have to do is talk to them and they will port you directly to Dalaran.
What follows is another simple search, “Learning to walk and return: the magical path”, which you can get from the portal trainer in the same place. It consists of Use the crystal in Dalaran to port into the crystalsong forest belowonly to return with another crystal. Upon completion, you will have access to Dalaran.

Get the trajectory
It’s a reminder to keep repeating, but as soon as you discover a new place, don’t forget to grab the flight plan. Despite all the magical energy and abilities in Dalaran, there is still a thriving market for conventional transportation.

Change your Hearthstone
This depends on your own plans for your character. So if you are already busy leveling in another part of the continent and have your hearth there, this is a moot point. However, many players may still have placed Hearthstones on Shattrath or other points in Old Azeroth. Also, there are portals in Dalaran that go to just about anywhere, including all battlegrounds.
