Legend of Heroes: Traces of Zero has finally had an official release outside of Japan since its initial release in 2010. As with every game in this massive JRPG series, Legend of Heroes: Traces of Zero is packed with story quests and side quests called requests. While some advance the story, others offer players rewards like Mira, Quartz, and many other different types of items. Additionally, players will earn Detective Points (or DP for short) for fulfilling and reporting these requests.
Detective points are like Legend of Hereos: Traces of Zero Players will increase their rank and receive useful rewards such as powerful accessories that can turn the tide of a battle. While there is a minimum number of detective points that players earn simply by advancing the story, it is possible to earn many more detective points from other sources. Here are things players can do to get more Detective Points and get those rewards faster.
Complete each individual request
As Legend of Heroes: Traces of Zero As players progress through the story, more requests will be available at the SSS HQ (Special Support Section). These requests are optional and will eventually expire if players don’t complete them before advancing the story, which is pretty much a standard feature in Legend of Heroes.
Inquiries are not only a great source of Mira, but also provide a lot of detective points. While they’re not as interesting as the main story, players are rewarded for going off the beaten path with these requests. The more requests missed, the less detective points players get.
Choose wisely
During the main story and the occasional optional request, there will be situations where Legend of Heroes: Traces of Zero Players must choose from a number of options. While there’s never a bad choice, only one of them earns bonus detective points. If players see that they received bonus detective points when reporting requests, like in the image above, then that means they made a correct choice.
Watch out for hidden requests
Aside from the inquiries at the terminal at SSS Headquarters, Legend of Heroes: Traces of Zero Players can also find requests by simply speaking to NPCs while progressing through the story. As in previous games, there are no markers or clues as to where to find these requests, so they’re a source of extra detective points that are very easy to miss. A good example of a hidden request is one available from the Bracer Guild branch near the end of the prologue.
Players can talk to the guy behind the counter and he will offer players a request to take a quiz. The number of detective points earned depends on how many questions players answer correctly. As with requests collected at SSS HQ, these hidden requests are only available for a limited time. If players miss them, they cannot get them without restarting the game.
