How to get seaweed in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The easiest way to get seaweed in Disney Dreamlight Valley is Walk along Dazzle Beach and keep an eye on the bottom. You will occasionally come across seaweed that you can pick up and add to your inventory.

While this is an easy way to get algae, it’s not a very sustainable method; We found that once we collected all the available seaweed at Dazzle Beach, it never showed up again no matter how long we waited.

Luckily, there’s another way to get seaweed: fishing! Go to any body of water, equip your fishing rod and Cast your line outside of the bubbling circles. So you always catch an ordinary fish or a piece of seaweed.

The game doesn’t explain this very well as it guides you to the bubbling circles during the tutorials, but you’re always guaranteed to find something some no matter where you cast your fishing line.

Keep in mind that you can ask a character who specializes in fishing to “hang out” with you, potentially increasing your seaweed loot. This is a good idea if you need a large amount of seaweed for a recipe or quest.

What is seaweed used for in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

The main use for seaweed in Disney Dreamlight Valley is to craft fiber at a craft station. A piece of seaweed can be turned into five pieces of fiberrequired to complete certain quests or craft certain items.

Once you’ve made fibers, you can turn them into ropes, which is important for quests and crafting. This chain of resources means it’s always a good idea to have a supply of seaweed just in case you need it.

Aside from crafting, seaweed can also be used as an ingredient in cooking recipes like fugu sushi and kappa maki, or offered as a popular treat for wild sea turtles if you want to befriend them.
