How to get Zorua in Pokémon Go

Zorua first appeared in Pokémon Go on Tuesday, October 25 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. PT during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Zorua is currently disabled for the game.

However, it is important to note that Zorua will only be available during the first five minutes – 6:00 p.m. to 6:05 p.m. (local time) – and the last five minutes – 6:55 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (local time) – this Spotlight Hour.

During these brief windows of time, Zorua appears as a perfect replica of your buddy Pokémon—even if that buddy Pokémon is Shiny. In order to catch a Zorua, you need to catch a fake sidekick who, much like Ditto, turns out to be a Zorua afterwards.

At the time of writing, we’re not sure if having your buddy Pokemon adventure by your side is a requirement for spawning Zorua. Because of this, we strongly recommend making sure this is already the case before Spotlight Hour begins so you can get the most out of Zorua’s brief appearance.

As mentioned above, Zorua is currently disabled in Pokémon Go due to a bug that causes it to keep the stats like CP and Attacks of the buddy Pokémon it’s copying.

As a result, Niantic has disabled the Zorua surprise for all time zones that haven’t already hosted the Shuppet Spotlight Hour until this issue is resolved. We will of course update this page when the bug is fixed.

Halloween has returned to Pokémon Go, bringing with it Mega Banette and the special research quest Mysterious Masks. You can also purchase two Halloween quests from the in-game shop – Yamask Timed Research and Halloween Timed Research. Quest steps 5 through 8 of A Cosmic Companion are now live as part of the Season of Light. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. There is also a new special research quest – A Mysterious Incense. Last but not least – don’t forget the new Prime Gaming rewards every two weeks.

How to evolve Zorua into Zoroark in Pokémon Go

Since Zorua is currently only available for a very limited time, we highly recommend using Pinap Berries when attempting to catch it. These berries, along with the Halloween event bonuses, mean you’ll be collecting a good amount of Zorua Candy very quickly. You might even have enough to evolve it into Zoroark!

Good luck catching Zorua!
