How to join a Microsoft Teams meeting

Virtual meetings have become increasingly common in recent years. These calls, which often consist of both voice and video, support communication at a time when many companies have both on-site and remote employees. Microsoft Teams is one of the most popular tools used in many organizations for day-to-day calls.

The ultimate goal of services like Microsoft Teams is to enable a meeting no matter where you are or what you’re doing, which means there are multiple ways to join and a variety of devices to use. Join with a link

A friend or colleague can add you to a Teams meeting, whether you have a Microsoft account or not. If you’re invited, you’ll receive an email with a link to call.

Step 1: Click the link in the email to begin joining the call.

Step 2: Depending on the device you’re using, you’ll be taken to a screen where you can choose how you want to participate. Options include downloading a desktop application for macOS or Windows, using the Teams app, or continuing in your browser.

Step 3: Whichever method you choose, the next screen will connect you to the call. To continue, you may need to update some permissions to give Teams access to your camera and microphone.

Step 4: Once you’ve given permission, you can tweak your audio and video settings before joining the call. If you have multiple microphones and cameras, you can choose which one to use.

Once you have entered your name and clicked the button Join now click, your request to join the conference will be sent to the organizer for confirmation and you will be admitted.

Join with a meeting ID

If you don’t want to join the meeting on the same device you opened your email on, you can enter the meeting ID and passcode on any device.

Just access the Microsoft Teams website and enter your ID and code. You will then be prompted to choose your joining method and customize your settings before joining the meeting.

Join from the Teams app

If you have the Microsoft Teams mobile app or desktop app, there are a number of ways to join a call.

When the organizer invites you, you’ll first get a notification that you can agree to join the meeting.

You can also join an existing scheduled call via Calendar tab. the Teams app. Just click the Join button and a new window will open where you can adjust your audio and video settings before joining the meeting.

Each meeting has its own chat, which you can access by clicking the arrow buttons to expand the window and clicking the Chat tab. If a meeting has already started, you can click “Connect” button and enter a call directly from the Chat tab.

Connect to phone audio

If you don’t have a reliable internet connection or the right device to join a video call, you can also use your phone to listen to the audio of a meeting. Your invitation email will list the dial-in option along with the number you can call. Just dial the number and join in, although additional charges may apply, so check with your phone company beforehand.
