How to Join a Tricolor Battle

Upon reaching the mid-term report in a turn 3 Splatfest gives players access to a special game mode. More specifically, this game mode is called Tricolor Battle and it is a unique twist on the standard Turf War format. Splatoon 3: How to join a tricolor turf war
To join a Tricolor Turf War turn 3, players should head to the lobby, press L and scroll down to the Tricolor Battle option. Selecting this option will queue fans up for a Tricolor Turf War, although the match they ultimately participate in may not be of that nature. In fact, a player is far more likely to be dropped into a normal Turf War match even if they selected Tricolor Turf War, and that might lead some fans to believe that Tricolor Battles don’t work.
However, this is not the case, and in fact the odds of a Tricolor Turf War match taking place have been reduced compared to the Splatfest World Premiere. This means players may have to wait in the Tricolor Battle queue for quite a while and participate in numerous standard Turf War matches before ever encountering this particular game mode. In particular, it is noted that this reduction in Tricolor Turf Wars frequency is temporary and these matches should appear more frequently in subsequent Splatfests turn 3‘s drizzle season 2022.
In terms of what players will experience when they finally find a Tricolor Turf War match, this game mode features eight competitors split across three teams. Four of these participants are from the side announced as being in the lead during the mid-term report and appear in the center of the map. The other four participants are from the other sides of the turn 3 Splatfest, and they’re split into two teams that spawn in the default positions.
When the game starts, it’s up to the two smaller teams to attack the larger team and eventually invade their territory. Additionally, the smaller teams will attempt to possess the Ultra Beacon, an object that spawns in the center of the map, to summon a Sprinkler of Doom. To claim the Ultra signal, turn 3 Players must enter it and hold their position until the object launches, and the sprinklers they deploy can go a long way in overcoming the larger team.
