Potions Permission is a casual action-adventure game developed by Masshive Media and published by PQube. Players take on the role of the new chemist in the town of Moonbury, brewing potions and cures for all sorts of ailments and traveling into the surrounding wilderness to gather ingredients. Players can also build their relationship with the townsfolk and improve the town in various ways throughout the game.
Pet the dog
Once the player has taken control, they can whistle for their dog at any time outdoors by pressing the whistle button. This will appear under the dog icon in the bottom left of the screen and will call the dog when used. The dog will then sit and it will be possible to interact with it by pressing the interact button.
This will open a small menu where the player can choose from several actions: Pet, Feed, and Find. A well-fed dog will happily guide the player to each NPC when using the Find command, which can be useful as townspeople are busy during the day and it can be difficult to keep track of all routines.
On the subject of feeding, the dog can technically be fed anything, but that doesn’t mean it will necessarily like every food. As a general rule, players should avoid anything too ridiculous, like milkshakes or root beer. Mushrooms from the first area where the player can collect items are an easy source of food for the dog. It’s very handy to regularly go to this area to gather mushrooms and other ingredients anyway, so picking up a few extras for the dog is unlikely to be a problem.
Finally, the Pet command allows the player to pet the dog, which increases their bond with the dog by a small amount, similar to feeding them food they like. This is both adorable and practical, as strengthening the dog’s bond allows him to perform an extra trick. A well-fed dog with a full friendship bar can dig up a number of useful and valuable items from holes, including Ginger. This makes keeping the dog happy invaluable for players who want to gather as many ingredients as possible for their alchemical concoctions.
