This is the first time Sony has released a special edition DualSense controller themed around a specific game. God of War Ragnarok definitely looks worthy of that honor, and we expect it to feature in our roundup of the best PS5 games soon after its release this winter.

After all, the God of War Ragnarok Collector’s Edition (opens in new tab) was snapped up in minutes, and we’re assuming PlayStation fans (and unfortunately scalpers) will be just as desperate for this stone-cold controller.
While the God of War DualSense doesn’t launch until November, you can secure it early with a pre-order starting Tuesday, September 27th. We expect the first wave to sell out very quickly, but hopefully Sony is also preparing plenty of additional devices for launch day.
We don’t yet know which retailers will be stocking the controller, but it’s practically guaranteed to be available on PlayStation Direct, and it could also be sold by retailers like GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy. We will update this article once we have confirmed the listings.
What is the God of War Ragnarok PS5 DualSense Controller?
The God of War Ragnarok PS5 DualSense Controller is pretty much what it sounds like. This limited edition DualSense wireless controller is released to celebrate the upcoming launch of the latest entry in the popular God of War series.
The controller features a two-tone design with “cool blue” plates over an “icy white” case. The touchpad is decorated with a bear and wolf badge representing Kratos and Atreus, the father and son protagonists of God of War Ragnarok. It’s a pretty slick controller overall, and it’s not overly pushy with its inspiration either.
It’s worth noting that this is just a standard DualSense with a cosmetic facelift; The functionality of the pad is the same as that of the regular pad. So this isn’t the recently unveiled DualSense Edge controller, which will feature several improvements and new features; We’re still awaiting pricing and release information for it.
