The release of The Genshin Impact 3.0 update is just days away as travelers await their long-awaited journey to Sumeru. Reaching the city of the region can be accomplished in a number of ways; However, HoYoverse has yet to confirm how we can reach the new region.

But while many prepare for the exciting adventures that lie ahead, few travelers may have charted the route to this region. This guide examines plausible theories about how we can travel to Sumeru in the Genshin Impact 3.0 update.

How to reach Sumeru in Genshin Impact?

As the developer hasn’t confirmed anything at the time of writing, we’ll be basing our theories on two specific leaks, briefly detailed by two different dataminers. According to a prominent Genshin Impact source, UBatcha, geographically, Sumeru is to the left of The Chasm in Liyue as the underground section may be connected to Sumeru.

This theory was explored by YouTube channel SteezyZ, revealing that Cinnabar Cliff has a tunnel that can be entered from a statue of the seven that slides down from this POI and moves directly to the right. When traveling along the tunnel, the traveler will see some red flashes on the mini-map, indicating that you can’t accurately travel this path yet.

This will also prompt Paimon to inform you that the area the tunnel is connected to is unavailable. “How about we explore the area in front of us later?” Paimon will let you know, but it’s unclear if the 3.0 update will add new POIs in The Chasm to connect to Sumeru.

The second way travelers could reach Sumeru is by boat, probably the more obvious travel method since Sumeru’s entry point is Port Ormos. This location hosts the Graven Innocence event and Dori runs her business, but there is a daily commission that links the two locations.

When you travel to Liyue Port, find an NPC, Little Meng, to start the daily commission, The Little Pirate Goes Out to Sea. This prompts you to teach him some cooking; After that, give him an ingredient to complete the commission.

During the commission, the NPC eagerly discusses what he knows about Sumeru, since his father is heading there to do business. As he will be joining his father on the journey, he probably won’t be able to go yet as the region is not yet available.

It is very likely that once the 3.0 update starts and you visit Little Meng in Liyue Port, the Daily Commission will have a new objective ending in Sumeru. Completing the daily mission also earns you the “Beginning of the Journey” achievement.

Whether on foot or at sea, the journey to Sumeru will delight travelers once update 3.0 is released. Since many of the discussed theories have yet to be confirmed, We will endeavor to provide further updates as more reliable information becomes available.

Genshin Impact 3.0 update, The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings, will be released on August 24th, 2022 for PlayStation consoles, mobile and PC via the Epic Games Store.
