Often you are so busy with family and work commitments that you don’t even realize that the physical intimacy in the relationship is long gone

New Delhi: In new relationships, couples often think only of each other, hold hands, are physically intimate, and have great sexual chemistry.

After some time, however, this chemistry begins to fade for no apparent reason.

Relationship experts believe that in long-term relationships, it’s not uncommon for attraction to fizzle out. “We assume that just because we’ve been attracted to our partner once, that same attraction will last forever without effort,” Naznin Moali, sex therapist and host of the podcast Sexology, told the Huffington Post.

Also, sometimes people distance themselves from each other over the years because of not being able to communicate, some resentment over problems, anger, family and a bunch of other things that you don’t even feel close to your partner.

Often you are so busy with family and work commitments that you don’t even realize that the physical intimacy in the relationship is long gone.

How do you get sexual intimacy the back?

If you’ve noticed that sexual feelings have been suppressed, it’s high time you worked towards it. In a long-term relationship, sex is not always spontaneous. Therefore, some tips must be followed to work on this aspect:

  • Dealing with each other physically: If you want to revitalize your relationship, start being more physical with your partner. Repairing a relationship is not possible without showing physical affection. Physical contact gives you the natural high produced by your body’s hormones and can help get you in the mood to rekindle love.
  • Innovation in bed: Just think of it as your first time, when you and your partner are just getting started, you’ve shown each other your best parts. Innovate in bed to make your partner happy and content.
  • Have fun: Instead of just focusing on sex and worrying, focus on intimacy and having fun with your partner. Don’t force yourself or your partner to have sex, start slowly.
  • Make detailed plans: Surprise your partner with a dinner date or a gift to get them interested in you. Make plans with them for a fun night out or a romantic getaway over the weekend to slowly rebuild trust in each other.
