After this, they are forced into an encounter with The One Who Waits, who will reward the Lamb with a new unlock called Sacrifice of Flesh. This gives players the ability to activate the ritual at their church altar whenever they wish and choose a pendant to sacrifice themselves to the Old God.

Sacrificing a henchman will reward the Lamb with a large amount of EXP to increase the power of his Red Crown, unlocking additional features during the Crusades such as extra health, fervour, and even new weapons and curses. The amount of EXP players receive for upgrades will be increased are entirely dependent on the follower’s loyalty level that they choose to sacrifice. Performing the ritual itself costs 75 bones (37 bones if the player has unlocked the Cheaper Rituals in the Divine Inspiration Tree) and subtracts -10 Faith.

Players can combat the loss of faith by grabbing the Faith in Sacrifice trait from the first tree of the After Death section when commanding a new Doctrine. Unlocking this trait adds +20 Faith each time a follower is sacrificed. Players can also wait to deliver their daily sermon after sacrificing a follower as this will help offset the loss of faith. Players should be aware of this Once the sacrificial ritual is complete, it must cool for several days before it can be used again.

Ascension awaits those the Lamb deems worthy, leading a chosen follower to a higher plane of existence. To unlock this ritual, players must collect a stone tablet and command the Doctrine, Ascend Follower ritual from the first level of the Law and Order section.

This ritual is like sacrifice costs 75 Bones (halved to 37 for players with Cheaper Rituals Divine Inspiration unlocked) and adds +15 Faith to the Cult every time it is performed.
