How to set up BeReal
BeReal is one of the newest social media platforms, emerging in 2020 but gaining popularity in mid-2022. How to set up an account on your phone.
BeReal allows users to take a picture of their daily lives with the front and back cameras and encourages users to be authentic, hence the name – BeReal. This is unlike many other social media platforms, which instead encourage users to show a more glamorous version of what they’re doing during the week that doesn’t always match reality.

- Download the BeReal app
- Go to the BeReal app
- Click Get Started
- Enter your name
- Press Next
- Enter your date of birth
- Press Next
- Enter your phone number
- Enter the security code

Step
1Download the BeReal app
Find and download the BeReal app in the app store that is easiest for you. The app is available in both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store and can be downloaded for free.

2Go to the BeReal app
Once the app is installed, click on it.

3Click Get Started
Click on the big white button at the bottom of the screen that says “Get Started”.

4Enter your name
Enter the name to associate with your account. This can be your real name or a nickname.

5Press Next
Click the Next button when done.

6Enter your date of birth
Enter your date of birth to continue.

Press the white button labeled Continue.

8thEnter your phone number
Enter the phone number you want to associate with your account. You can only have one BeReal account per phone number.

9Enter the security code
Enter the code that will be sent to the phone number you just entered.
Troubleshooting
Whilst you can have more than one BeReal account, you cannot have more than one BeReal account on one number, meaning you will need a different SIM card/phone to have more than one account.
Yes, you can retake a BeReal, although it will be visible to your friends if you do so.
