How to sign up for Nintendo Online using a Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch comes with a large library of games, including blockbuster hits like Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, if you want to play classic titles on the Switch, you might be out of luck.
Thankfully, Nintendo has introduced Nintendo Switch Online, a subscription service similar to Xbox Game Pass that gives users the ability to play titles from the NES and the Super NES along with general online play. If you’re interested in updating some classic games and enjoying all the other features of Nintendo Online, be sure to read on.
What you will need:
The short version
- Go to the eShop
- Choose your profile
- Click Nintendo Switch Online
- Click View/Change Membership
- Choose the membership you want
- Select the hiking trail you want
- Click next
- Start your membership
Go to the eShop
Power on your Switch and go to the eShop from the menu at the bottom of the screen.
Choose your profile
Choose the profile you want to use.
Click Nintendo Switch Online
Scroll down the menu and click on Nintendo Switch Online.
Click View/Change Membership
Click the red “View/Change Membership” button.
Choose the membership you want
Select the desired membership from the options presented. We have opted for individual membership.
Select the desired trial version
Select the desired trial version from the options presented. If you haven’t had a membership in the past, you can choose the seven-day free trial option.
When you are happy with your membership, click Next.
Start your membership
Click the orange button to start your membership. Free Trial will appear if you are using the seven-day free trial.
