What are the unlock requirements for the third semester of Persona 5 Royal?
In order to unlock Royal’s third semester, getting the original Persona 5 True Ending is essential. Without spoiling what happens, you must choose the first answer during the interrogation sequences, reach the final dungeon, and decline the Joker’s offer.
Decisive you must Rank 9 by November 17th for Councilor Dr. Reach Maruki. He’s the only familiar that’s mandatory to unlock, and he can’t be visited during the summer, so we recommend prioritizing him over other familiars. If you don’t reach Rank 9, Royal will lock you out of Semester 3 entirely, giving you the true ending of Persona 5 instead.
It’s worth keeping an eye on Kasumi (Familiar of Faith) and Akechi (Familiar of Righteousness) before reaching third semester. None of the social links are mandatory, but if Kasumi is not ranked 5 by December 22nd, her social link will remain locked for the rest of the game. Getting Akechi to rank 8 by November 17 will also unlock an additional post-credits scene.
What else can I do during the third semester of Persona 5 Royal?
The third semester offers some unique opportunities, including a third evolution for your teammates’ personas. This becomes available once you max out their original rank 10 social connection, after which their personas will evolve into their second form. When that’s done, meet up with them again in January to trigger this third evolution.
Hanging out with all six Thieves (excluding Morgana, Akechi, and Kasumi) will obviously reduce your available days off, so be careful with time management. Joker can still level up with most other familiars, with the exception of Toranosuke Yoshida (Sun familiar). His deadline is November 17; Otherwise, you can still do whatever is possible in the main game.
