Harvestella is a game that wastes no time before flooding your inventory with resources, consumables and other useful gadgets. Unfortunately, your starting backpack isn’t quite up to the task of holding all of these items.

How to upgrade your backpack in Harvestella
Upgrade your backpack Harvestella is a very simple process – but one that is easy to overlook. That’s how it works.
Step 1: The first thing you have to do is discover Lethe Village. This happens fairly early in the game, and you don’t have to bother finding it. Just keep chugging through the main quest and you’ll eventually be sent to the quaint town.
Step 2: Once you find Lethe Village, go to the General Store. It is just up the road and is the second building on the right.
Step 3: Walk in, chat to the clerk and you can browse the selection of items. One of these elements is named Backpack Lv. 2. Buying this will add eight slots to your inventory.
Step 4: a second stage, Backpack Lv. 3, is available after this purchase – although it will cost you a cool 10,000 Grilla. The backpack is designed for a maximum of five rows (40 slots).
Why you should upgrade your inventory
Like any good RPG, Harvestella is filled with heaps of useful (and useless) items. It will likely take less than a few minutes to load your standard backpack, forcing you to either miss valuable loot or make the trek back to your farm to stow it in storage.
An upgraded backpack allows you to gather resources faster, which allows you to earn money and craft useful gear faster than before. Backpack upgrades don’t come cheap, but they pay for themselves after just a few dungeon runs.
The best way to manage your inventory in Harvestella
Managing your inventory can be challenging, but there are a few things you can do to maximize your space.
- Do not bring crops into dungeons. There’s really no need to bring carp and onions into the fray – once they’ve been harvested, deposit them straight into your shipping box.
- leave seeds at home. Again, these are useless in dungeons, but can take up a significant portion of your inventory.
- Drop shared loot. If you don’t need starter items for crafting, you can throw away these unprofitable items immediately after purchase.
- Take consumables with you on your quests, but don’t overdo it. Since you only have a short amount of time exploring before you have to return home for the night, there’s no reason to fill multiple slots of your inventory with health-restoring items. Instead, consider using just two consumable slots – and maybe a few more if you’re gearing up for a boss fight.
