How to use Noise app on Apple Watch to monitor and protect hearing health

Apple watch offers a range of health monitoring features including sleep tracking, SpO2 monitor, heart rate monitor and more. In addition, the watch has features such as fall detection, an emergency alert function to notify your loved ones in case of an emergency, and much more.

Among these features, noise level monitor is a feature that helps users to be aware of the noise level around them and protect hearing health.

According to the Apple Hearing Study report, approximately 25% of participants are exposed to average ambient noise exposure from traffic, machinery, public transportation and other sources on a daily basis. According to the report, that number is higher than the limit prescribed by the WHO.

The Noise app on Apple Watch is a special app designed to measure the noise level in the environment and alert users when the noise level is above the prescribed limit. It uses microphones on the Apple Watch to measure decibel levels in the environment. The app alerts users when noise levels in their area have reached levels that may affect users’ hearing.
