How To Use The Hobnob Hosting App

Like it or not, the Facebook event invitation is almost obsolete. What was once the ultimate way to send a bulk invite to friends has increasingly felt like a shout out – like many the hard way with the belated “Sorry, I’m seeing this, I’m not checking Facebook anymore! ” News months after the end of an event. Of course some got smart. And those at the forefront of Gen Z may even have started posting event invitations to their Instagram stories of close friends. But until now, there have been few platforms that offer the same level of convenience and customization options for inviting specific groups.

Enter: hobnob.

Similar to its new contemporaries like Paperless Post and Partiful, Hobnob lets you send custom invites to guests via SMS and MMS. Since the invitation arrives directly at the guests via SMS, the guessing game as to whether your guest list has even seen your invitation – let alone accepted it – is finally over.

Maybe you’ve already received an invitation through Hobnob and want to host your own Hobnob party. Or maybe you’ve been desperately looking for an invitation alternative. Here’s everything you need to know about the Hobnob app.

How to create a Hobnob RSVP event

If you want to host an event through Hobnob, you must first download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, just tap “Create an event” and choose whether you want it to be an RSVP event (which automatically tracks RSVPs and sends RSVP reminders) or an announcement (where you create flyers) . send to guests or post somewhere).

To create an RSVP event, enter your event name, date and time (optional), and location (optional). Next, tap on “Choose Theme”.

From here, you can choose from the preset flyer designs or tap “Use your own flyer design” in the top right to upload your own photo. Note: Themes with a lock emoji in the top left corner can only be used once they have been purchased.

Once you’ve chosen your design, the next window allows you to add any optional event details – e.g. B. the host name, a link to a virtual meeting or other important information.

Once you’ve created your first invite and are ready to send it, you’ll need to enter your phone number and name. Then tap on “Add guests” in your events window. Allow Hobnob access to your contacts and you can search for someone’s phone number or email directly from your contacts. You can also tap Share and iMessage in the top right to invite contacts, or have friends scan the QR code from your screen.

Note: Each guest you wish to invite must have a Hobnob account (which is free) or you must pay 1 credit to invite guests who are not on Hobnob.

How to create a hobnob announcement

If you just want to create an announcement flyer that you can text to friends or post somewhere, tap the Announcement option under the RSVP Event button. Next, enter your event information and tap Choose Theme.

Then choose from the preset designs or tap Use My Flyer Design in the top right to upload a photo from your camera roll. In the next window, add more details and then tap “Save and Preview”.
