How to Watch Alaska Daily Starring Hilary Swank

Hilary Swank takes down names and solves crimes Alaska Dailythe new ABC series, which premiered on the network on Thursday, October 6. Searching for the truth at a time when honesty is not a concern, Swank anchors the series as a hungry investigative journalist at odds with her job and modern times. Tom McCarthy (still water) serves as the creator of the series, and he’s no stranger to the world of journalism, having penned the Best Picture winner, headlight. Swank plays prominent New York reporter Eileen Fitzgerald and is “cancelled” after an article with bad sources and her harsh behavior at work, which some find cruel. Fitzgerald, now unemployed, has to come to terms with who she’s become when she leaves the Big Apple for Anchorage, Alaska. She was recruited to write for The Daily Alaskan newspaper and was brought on board to report on a series of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the community that have remained unsolved.

A two-time Best Actress Oscar winner, Swank won for her performances in boys don’t cry (1999) and million dollar baby (2004). Celebrated for her intensity and lively performances, she brings the whole work to the table Alaska Daily as a bitter journalist reluctant to change for the better. Swank has gradually made the leap to television over the past few years, recently starring in the Netflix original space drama one way (2020), which was canceled after one season. Also serves as executive producer Alaska Dailythe ABC series marks her return to the small screen in a starring role.

Jeff Perry is co-starring as Fitzgerald’s editor Stanley Cornik, and Perry is best known for his work in various Shonda Rhimes Series including both Grey’s anatomy and scandal. When and where to see Alaska daily?

Season 1 of Alaska Daily airs Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Network. Episode 1 premiered on October 6, and Episode 2, “A Place We Came Together,” aired on October 13. Episode 3 “It’s Not Personal” will air on October 20th. After the episodes air on ABC, they become produced and available to stream on Hulu the next day with the appropriate subscription. What is Alaska Daily about?

Alaska Daily begins after an article Fitzgerald publishes accusing her of writing factually incorrect information and spreading lies. To make matters worse, her intense work ethic has her accused of workplace misconduct and creates a toxic work environment. Recruited by now-unemployed Daily Alaskan editor Stanley Cornik to move to Anchorage to write for the local paper, she leaves her old life to start a new chapter. Cornik keeps an eye on Fitzgerald as he oversees her mission to uncover the unsolved murders of various brilliant women in the community, but she can’t solve it alone. Grace Dove plays senior reporter Roz Friendly alongside Swank, and while they get off on the wrong foot, the two decide to work together to uncover the unsolved murder of a local Indigenous woman, Gloria.

dark winds (2022) – One of the best new series coming out in 2022 is AMC’s 1970s thriller dark winds. With Tooth McClarnon, He plays Navajo cop Joe Leaphorn, a lieutenant working on an unsolved double homicide. With supernatural beings in play, Leaphorn scours the reservation and surrounding town for answers, working with a newcomer to the squad, Officer Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon). Based on the characters and stories from the critically acclaimed novel series written by Tony Hillerman, he authored several books from 1970 to 2006 in which Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee work together to solve crimes. The series marks McClarnon’s first starring role on television after having a string of supporting roles in FXs FargoFX on Hulu Reservation dogsand HBO’s western worldand he feels right at home in the role of a tortured policeman on a hunt for the truth amidst witches and monsters.
