What you should know

The Jacksonville Jaguars remain on the road Sunday to face the Philadelphia Eagles on October 2 at 1:00 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. With 813 total yards of offense in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced matchup.

The Jaguars made easy work of the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday, clinching a 38-10 win. The contest was all but over by the end of the third, by which time Jacksonville had established a 31-10 advantage. Their success was led by the efforts of QB Trevor Lawrence, who passed on 39 tries for three TDs and 262 yards, and RB James Robinson, who rushed on 17 carries for a TD and 100 yards. That touchdown—a 50-yard rush in the third quarter—was one of the highlights of the game.

Special teams accumulated 12 points for Jacksonville. K Riley Patterson delivered a perfect 3v3 game.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia had enough points to win, and last Sunday some against the Washington Commanders, who won their contest 24-8. Philadelphia’s offense checked out after the first half but still had enough points to win the contest. Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts threw it as he passed for three TDs and 340 yards on 35 tries.

Philadelphia’s defense was also present as it embarrassed Washington’s offensive line to sack QB Carson Wentz nine times for a total loss of 58 yards. Leading the field was DE Brandon Graham with 2.5 sacks. Graham now has three sacks.

The Jaguars are expected to lose this next one by 6.5. However, it might be worth taking a risk against the spread as they are currently on a streak of two ATS wins.

Jacksonville is now 2-1 while the Eagles sit at 3-0. A few stats to keep in mind as you watch: Jacksonville has yet to allow a quick touchdown this season. But Philadelphia comes into the competition and has the fastest touchdowns in the league with six. We’ll see if Jacksonville’s defense can keep Philadelphia’s running backs out of the end zone.
