House of the Dragon Plot and Trailer

So we already know a fair bit about what House of the Dragon is about, thanks to the original text, George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood book. It’s not quite as deep as the ‘Fire and Ice’ saga (at only 773 total pages), but it’s quite substantial.

A few centuries before Dany begins her quest to regain the Iron Throne, we see her house in its prime, but not without a little family drama. Some people have referred to it as the “succession with dragons” as the Targaryen heirs are vying for the right to succeed King Viserys. This will eventually culminate in the civil war known in lore as the Dance of the Dragons. Here we see the preamble and probably in later seasons the war itself.
