What is Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story about?

Here is the official synopsis of the series:

From the Emmy Award-winning creators of American Crime Story comes Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The series explores the gruesome and horrific true crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer and the systematic errors that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murder spree in plain sight for over a decade.

“Here we are. Home sweet home.” So says the man who accompanies Dahmer to his apartment until he begins to smell the apartment and hear the door lock behind him. Following this incident, the trailer shows several other similar encounters in the apartment, giving viewers a glimpse of the horrific practices the killer would do to his victims. Told by his neighbor (played by Niecy Nash), which rightly questions the noise and stench of Dahmer’s apartment, the trailer also shows the character visiting and giving her a gift. Given his track record with human flesh, we can conclude that the meat in the sandwich came from one of his victims. There’s also a few quick shots of the criminal as a kid, meaning there might be a few flashbacks in the narrative that give some context to when and where his obsession with murdering and eating people began. At the end of the trailer, Dahmer is seen wearing an orange jumpsuit during his trial and the neighbor says that she called authorities several times and that it’s “too late” now.

Overall, it seems like the true crime series sticks with the murders and the lack of police involvement in putting the killer behind bars. Aspects of the criminal’s childhood and his journey to his destiny are also expected to be covered.
