Major storylines and star players

Games for Manchester United, set to play their 14th game since early February (47 days – one game every four days, for an average month and a half) will continue to be tight and fast before there is a brief lull in the form of the International break next week. However, they will be without Casemiro, perhaps the club’s most important player (and summer signing) after the Brazilian received his second red card of 2023 in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Southampton. He played and starred in the second leg against Betis but will almost certainly give way to doubles pivot Scott McTominay-Fred, who often roamed the pitch at Old Trafford before his arrival. The Red Devils have lost just two of their last 26 games in all competitions (vs. Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League).

Fulham, on the other hand, are suddenly in one of their worst moments of the whole season after losing two games in a row, conceding six goals against Brentford and Arsenal. Aleksandar Mitrovic has not scored in his last nine games (all competitions) after starting the season with 11 in 15. The 3-0 defeat by Arsenal ended Manor Solomon’s streak of five straight games with a goal and brought the deficit to Mitrovic’s demise.
