But how to grow safely at home? Well, waxing should be done in the right way to get the best results. Getting it done by a professional may mean you have less to worry about, but you should exercise some caution if you choose to do it at home.

Wax Mistakes You Must Avoid

Waxing is a quick and inexpensive way to get rid of body hair, but it’s also a bit painful. So if you are planning on waxing yourself at home to remove all unwanted hair from your body, it is important to follow the instructions carefully to get the best results. Unfortunately, many people make simple waxing mistakes that can lead to discomfort and skin problems.

Before you read the ins and outs of waxing, let us tell you what you can do while preparing for your at-home waxing session.

Do these 2 things to prepare your skin for waxing:

1. Exfoliation: It’s important to prep your skin. That means exfoliating it and removing excess hair. dr Haror says: “The best way to exfoliate your skin is to use a sugar scrub. You can make your own sugar scrub by mixing together sugar and olive oil.” Apply the scrub to your skin in circular motions, then rinse with warm water.

2. Cut hair: Make sure you also trim/shave the area you want to wax. This helps the wax stick to the hair better and makes the process much smoother.

According to Dr. Haror 5 Mistakes to Avoid When Waxing at Home:

1. Don’t skip exfoliating or cleansing your skin as it is crucial that your skin is wax ready
2. Don’t apply too much wax, it should be thin enough to see through
3. Do not peel off the wax before it is completely dry, otherwise it may cause skin irritation
4. Do not wax the same area more than once a month
5. Do not overheat the wax. Store at room temperature before application

  • Avoid waxing if you have sunburn or other skin irritation
  • Avoid waxing if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Avoid waxing if you have open wounds
  • Avoid waxing when you have your period.

Now it is imperative that you understand how to grow at home.

Steps to waxing at home

dr Haror says, “Waxing at home can be a great way to save money and keep your skin looking its best. But if you’re not careful, it’s easy to make mistakes that can lead to skin irritation, ingrown hairs, burn marks, blisters, and worse.” To avoid these side effects and make your at-home waxing experience much more efficient and less painful, follow these steps:

Step 1: Make sure your skin is clean and dry before you begin.

Step 2: Apply a sufficient amount of wax to your skin in the direction of hair growth after removing it from the wax warmer once the wax is hot. Use a wax applicator to apply.

Note: Apply a thin layer of wax to the area you wish to wax.

Step 3: Once you’ve applied the wax, take a strip of wax and rub it onto the area; so that the wax sticks to it.

Step 4: Then quickly pull it away from your skin in the direction your hair is growing, in one go. Don’t apply too much pressure when removing the wax strip.

Step 5: To relieve the pain, immediately press your palm against the waxed skin.

Note: You can also apply a soothing cream or lotion to the area after waxing.

Proceed in the same way on the other parts of the body that you want to wax. When you’re done, use a warm cloth to wipe your body (and then a cold cloth). Give your body time to dry. Repeat the process every two to four weeks.

Bring away

Last but not least, whether you are a beginner in waxing or a pro, it has been found that waxing is one of the easiest, most affordable and most accessible methods of hair removal at home.
