How Trump and Biden’s Chances Look in Latest 2024 Polling
New polls suggest Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are neck and neck as Republicans and Democrats eye the 2024 presidential election.
Polls from Redfield and Wilton Strategies and Premise show the race for the White House is incredibly close, with just a few percentage points separating the two.
While Biden has been suffering from relatively high disfavor for several months, the polls suggest Republicans may have a harder time winning the White House race next year.
In two polls by Redfield and Wilton Strategies, Trump led Biden by a single percentage point. The former president led Biden by 40 to 39 percent. Meanwhile, both were at 44 percent in a second poll. Both polls were shared on March 7 and March 6, respectively.
Meanwhile, Trump led the president by 45 percent to 44 percent in a premise poll, while taking a slightly larger lead of 44 percent to 41 percent in a second poll, both shared on March 6.
Both Redfield and Wilton Strategies and Premise have received a B/C ranking from survey aggregator FiveThirtyEight, with A+ being considered the highest grade that can be achieved in previous accurate surveys.
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who recently announced her intention to become the GOP presidential nominee in 2024, underperformed in two March 6 premise polls in which Biden led her by 2 and 3 percentage points against Biden.
However, polls also suggest that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican who has not yet announced whether he will run for president in 2024, would prove a strong contender against Biden.

A Premise poll released on March 6 found DeSantis ahead of Biden in terms of favorability by 37 to 36 percent.
DeSantis has garnered support among Republicans looking to retake the White House next year. The possibility that Florida’s governor could make an announcement has prompted Trump to attack his potential GOP rival.
On numerous occasions, the former president has poked fun at DeSantis and made it clear that he has no affection for the governor.
In several posts from Truth Social, Trump’s social media platform, Trump has shared polls in which he directs DeSantis and has repeatedly given him derisive names, including “Ron DeSanctimonious.”
The former president continues to have a lead over DeSantis in polls that have asked Republicans which candidate they would prefer. Additionally, Trump and DeSantis have gained a foothold in Iowa, which will start the Republican Party’s nomination race.
DeSantis’ visit to the state earlier this week could be taken as a strong indication that he intends to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination.
