A weak run of the domestic results has lost the Nerazzurri to ninth place in Serie A and now they are stepping into the European game to turn their fortunes against a Barcelona side who have turned things around on their own side.
Inter lost two games in a row with Barca ahead of Tuesday’s clash and with Group C arguably the toughest in this year’s Champions League, they need to buck the trend and maximize their chance against the current La Liga leaders.
“It’s a difficult moment for us, but as players we have to take responsibility and be ready to give more,” said Inter’s Matteo Darmian.
“I think from our side we’re not fooling ourselves. I know all my teammates well. Despite the difficult time we’re going through, we all want to turn the situation around because we’re a tight-knit group. From our side, we want make things right, we need to stay calm and be on for the full 90 minutes.
