Is there a Kardashian curse in European football? Kim K attends PSG, Arsenal defeats
Some major European football clubs may think twice before handing Kim Kardashian tickets to any games in the near future.
Fans of American pop culture are familiar with the “Kardashian curse” that’s been twirling around the internet for years. Kim K’s exes seemed aflame in their personal and professional lives after dating the Hollywood A-lister, fueling a tongue-in-cheek conspiracy theory.
Scott Disick, Kris Humphries, Lamar Odom, Tristan Thompson, and Kanye West all appear to have suffered from varying degrees of post-breakup adversity following Kim K’s split. While this can be a bit difficult to track and prove, sporting event results are much more cut and dry.
Kim Kardashian attended two European soccer games last week and while both teams she supported were at home and preferred to win their respective games, the two instead suffered embarrassing defeats. Is that the curse at work again?

Kim Kardashian attends PSG loss to Rennes
On Sunday, March 19th, Kim Kardashian was spotted at the Parc des Princes in Paris during a Ligue 1 game between PSG and Rennes.
Kardashian was spotted wearing a gray PSG jersey with Neymar’s name on the back, clearly showing support for the home side, who led the Ligue 1 table by nine points.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe both featured in the starting XI and played the full 90 minutes but the hosts were crushed as Rennes scored goals from Karl Toko Ekambi and ex-PSG youngster Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga to move 2-0 away at half-time . Meanwhile, PSG’s attacking stars were kept at bay as Mbappe and Messi scored 10 shots together but failed to find the back of the net.
Even Kim’s choice of kit was ominous as Neymar suffered a season-ending ankle injury before PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich. It’s unclear if the jersey was brand new or if she brought it from home, but either way it doesn’t do the idea of a curse any favors.
Arsenal rebounded from the Europa League with Kim Kardashian
Just days before attending the PSG game, Kardashian was spotted with her son Saint West at the Emirates Stadium for the Europa League round of 16 match between Arsenal and Portuguese club Sporting CP.
Wearing a jersey belonging to Katie McCabe (an Arsenal women’s team forward), Saint cheered for Bukayo Saka during the game.
Unfortunately for the hosts, Arsenal also fell victim to the supposed curse. With a 1-1 aggregate score from the first leg, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta rotated the squad again and started a series of backups. The two teams drew 1-1 again and Arsenal lost on penalties.
With Kim K at a safe distance in Paris, the Gunners beat Crystal Palace 4-1 on Sunday to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
