Miami @ New York

Current records: Miami 3-1; New York 2-2

What you should know

The New York Jets have been 2-10 against the Miami Dolphins since November 2016, but they have a chance to close the gap a little on Sunday. New York and Miami face off in an AFC East bout at 1:00 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. The Jets will rush in after a win, while Miami will stumble in after a loss.

Although it wasn’t a dominant performance, New York beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 24:20 last Sunday. No one had a stellar offensive game for New York, but they scored points from WR Braxton Berrios, RB Breece Hall and WR Corey Davis. New York’s win came after a two-yard rush from Hall with just 0:18 left in the fourth quarter.

The New York defense was present as they accumulated four interceptions. FS Lamarcus Joyner picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back for a touchdown the other way.

Meanwhile, Miami came up short against the Cincinnati Bengals last week, losing 27-15. A bright spot for Miami came in the play of WR Tyreek Hill, who caught ten passes for 160 yards. Hill hadn’t helped his team much against the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

Most of the roster’s points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed nine. K Jason Sanders delivered a perfect 3v3 game.

New York is expected to lose this next game by 3. Their home ground has not been a bettor’s paradise as they have failed to beat the spread in two of their two home games.

The Jets are now 2-2 while the Dolphins sit at 3-1. A few offensive stats to keep in mind as you watch: New York ranks fourth in the NFL for passing yards per game, averaging 293. But Miami does even better: They’re coming in at 307 yards per game Play into the matchup in the league with the second most passing yards. We’ll see if that lead gives Miami a path to victory.
