The latest Kimera EVO37 has rolled off the assembly line and landed in Spain at the Motor Sport Institute (MSI). As well as revealing that the institution’s founder, Teo Martin, is the last owner of the remarkable car, it has also announced an important next step for the company.
The Kimera EVO37 is inspired by the Lancia 037, which was the last rear-wheel drive car to ever win the World Rally Championship. A legend in its day, Kimera decided to update the car for modern drivers with a 500 hp (373 kW/507 hp), 2.0 liter engine and the latest technology.
The result was impressive enough to convince Teo Martin, who was a rally driver in the ’80s (when the original Lancia 037 was racing), to buy a model for himself. As one of Kimera’s first customers, he now owns chassis number 002.

His car, christened in honor of his granddaughter Paula, is finished in Kimera Red paintwork and red Alcantara seats, with carbon fiber, anthracite and CNC-machined aluminum bodywork.
Like other clients, Martin was invited to spec his car at Villa Kimera in Italy using a VR 3D simulator that allowed him to get inside the car he was converting in real time. The finished product, meanwhile, was unveiled on the owner’s home lawn at the Motor Sport Institute.
The MSI works on the education and coaching of professionals in the motorsport world and is affiliated with the University of Engineering of Madrid. There, students gain hands-on experience developing competition vehicles, making this the perfect addition to the prestigious institution’s car park.
There’s more to come, but what?
As well as revealing the stunning build, Kimera also announced that it is preparing “for a new major step” which will be revealed “soon” and which will surely bring joy to many enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, little is known about the company’s plans, but hopefully it will bring joy to more people than the Kimera EVO37, of which only 37 will be built.
