Latest on suspect taken into custody, officer shot
WBAL-TV provides the latest update on the officer shot shooting and the latest developments from this ongoing story. Shock trauma doctors said the detective is on life support this morning but is stable. In a press conference earlier today, Dr. Thomas Scalea that the detective was shot multiple times. Interim Baltimore County Police Chief Dennis Delp said the shooting took place on Warren Road Thursday night and they believe it was David Linthicum who shot the detective. The detective was wearing a bulletproof vest. dr Scalea said law enforcement detectives and colleagues left him with shock trauma just after 10 p.m. last night and have been working to save his life ever since. “He was in shock. We’ve stabilized him, but he’s on life support. He will need a significant amount of reconstruction (surgery). We’re putting our plan together now. He’ll be with us for a while,” Scalea said. Delp added that the shooting happened quickly and a vehicle was stolen during the encounter. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olsheshki asks everyone to keep this detective and his family in your thoughts and prayers. “We know this is an ongoing situation. Aside from what’s happening here, we’re here to show our support and love for our officer. Even though we have full confidence and confidence that our department and all allied resources from other jurisdictions have been shared with us and bring him to justice,” Olsheshki said.
