Latest Rumors Suggest WWE May Make Major Changes in Title Belts After 2023 Draft

After last year’s regime change, there were reports that the WWE draft will take place in October. However, the plans were then pushed back to 2023 for unknown reasons. According to recent rumours, WWE will now do it after WrestleMania 39. However, it is also reported that it will not happen immediately after the mega event. Well, whenever it happens, WWE fans need to brace themselves to see some big changes.

Lately, Xero News created a Twitter post listing some recent rumors about the upcoming WWE draft. It has been claimed that the event could be an opportunity for WWE to restart many things. In fact, changes are expected from the pay-per-view structure to title belts.

Latest rumors and details on the 2023 edition of the WWE Draft

Xero News noted that with the 2023 draft, WWE management could reset a lot of old things. Recent rumors suggest that the company may once again use branded pay-per-views. It’s something that was done in 2002 and 2016 that didn’t work very well.

Additionally, the draft could be a catalyst for major changes regarding some title belts. Xero News claimed management could pull out and rename some championships. However, nothing was said about which titles could go through this change.

Xero News also reported that the latest rumors suggest WWE may finally be bringing separate titles to RAW and SmackDown despite the draft. It was stated that each brand will receive a pair of tag, world and women’s titles.

Well, it’s good to know that the regime led by Triple H is trying to make the champions and PPVs more relevant than Mr. McMahon has been doing in recent years. However, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the end.

Can management decide to retire the women’s tag team titles through the 2023 draft?

One of the biggest issues in the WWE Women’s Division, Right Now, is the way the Tag Team Titles are being handled. Since the titles were introduced, nothing notable has happened to them. In fact, all fans remember is that Sasha Banks and Naomi broke up last year.

Although Triple H has brought back some relevance by putting them on Lita and Becky Lynch, there’s still a lot more to be done. Retiring the belts might not be a good option, but rebranding could work.

WWE has a stacked women’s locker room that certainly has enough room for another pair of tag team titles. If there’s a proper brand split, two sets could work well if booked properly.

Nonetheless, there was also a call to introduce a mid-card title for the women’s division. However, it is not yet possible to say with certainty what would or would not happen in the 2023 draft.
