Another tag means another Souls-like game, and this time Pinocchio gets that Masocore treatment. Lies of P from developer NEOWIZ has a release date landing later this year and we can’t wait to dig and fight our way through the dark world of the Belle Époque.

The game was unveiled to some rave reviews in 2022 thanks to its sophisticated soul-like combat and fully realized dark and beautiful universe.

We can’t help but think of Bloodborne when we look at the gothic world and spooky enemies in this game. It wouldn’t be a surprise to learn that some inspiration comes from the FromSoftware PS4 classic.

With the ability to combine weapons and a great sounding lies feature with multiple endings, the Lies of P release date can’t come soon enough.

When is the Lies of P release date?

Lies of P is to be published in Aug 2023. Unfortunately, the development team has not announced a final date. While it’s a shame we don’t know exactly when we’ll be playing the game in August, it’s nice to know that it will at least be in August.

Of course, we’ll update this page with the specific release date once it’s confirmed.

Can I pre-order Lies of P?

You can pre-order Lies of P on GAME for £69.99. As we get closer to the August 2023 release date, the price may drop.

You can also wishlist the game on Steam if you prefer PC games.

What consoles and platforms can Lies of P be played on?

Lies of P can be purchased and played on PC via Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Sorry Switch fans, it looks like this one will be missing on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

On Xbox, Lies of P is a day-one Game Pass release. Subscribers can play the game at no additional cost.

In Lies of P you play as Pinocchio and you have to find Mr. Geppetto. He’s in town – a town “overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust” where you must fight and lie to everything to make Pinocchio human.

Battle creepy creatures and automatons in the fallen city of Krat in this dark and combative retelling of the classic fairy tale. The city’s design is inspired by the European Belle Époque era of the late 19th/early 20th century.

It all looks a bit Bloodborne-esque and that’s a good thing. However, this is not a direct rip off from FromSoftware.

You can combine weapons to create some unique and powerful weapons for Pinocchio to wield. A special skill system allows you to modify parts of Pinocchio’s body with battle-ready buffs and other useful upgrades.

Perhaps most interesting, however, is the game’s lie system. Throughout the game it seems like you are given quests where you have to lie to different people. The lies you tell will change history. There are multiple endings, you know.
