Toronto FC host Inter Miami on Friday night in the Reds’ final home game of the season and their penultimate game of the 2022 MLS season.

The Reds will welcome back MLS MVP Alejandro Pozuelo, a familiar face in 2020, who will make his first trip to BMO Field since being traded to Miami in July.

Toronto, who were knocked out of the playoffs in their last game, a 4-0 loss at Orlando, doesn’t have much to offer on Friday other than giving their home support a good performance on the pitch.

TFC’s loss to Orlando City was the heaviest loss of the season. With time to refocus during the international break, head coach Bob Bradley, as well as club supporters, will await a response from the team.

Two Canada national team starters will not be able to take part on Friday as Jonathan Osorio and Doniel Henry have both been ruled out. Osorio remains on the sidelines while recovering from a neurological dysfunction, with the midfielder’s World Cup status now in question.

With nothing left to play, Bradley could decide to add some fringe players to his starting lineup just to see more of them before the season wraps up.

Noble Okello and Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty are two names who could earn a start on Friday, with neither player having started more than four MLS games this season.

Toronto FC and Inter Miami last met in August when the pink team defeated the Reds 2-1 at DRV PNK Stadium. It was a crushing loss for Toronto that ended their five-game unbeaten streak and reduced the likelihood of a playoff appearance. This was the first time Toronto had faced former player Alejandro Pozuelo after his move to Miami earlier in the season.

The Spanish forward now returns to Toronto and is looking to pick up three big points in his old homeland.

Miami currently sits seventh and final in the Eastern Conference playoff spot, with Columbus Crew sitting just below with an equal score but fewer wins than Phil Neville’s team.
