Liverpool vs Man United prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Premier League rivalry match at Anfield

Liverpool and Manchester United are resuming their rivalry, with both teams having extremely little margin for error in their respective struggles in the Premier League table.
The Reds face a home game against the hated Red Devils and they’re fighting for every point, chasing a European spot and still living in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
United, meanwhile, are still dreaming of a quadruple win this season but are 11 points adrift of Premier League leaders Arsenal and know any slip could be the end of this chase.
Anfield has been a house of terror for Manchester United in recent years, without a win there since 2017, but they will know this year may be the best shot they will have in a while. The Reds have strayed from their usual standards of performance and Marcus Rashford can’t stop scoring.
Regardless of their position in the table, this rivalry game has generated plenty of excitement over the years and this edition should be no exception.

Liverpool vs Man United Odds
Somehow, despite their relative positions in the table, Manchester United are slight underdogs when they travel to Anfield, likely due to their recent record there. Still, both teams sit at plus moneyline odds, suggesting it’s everyone’s game, as is usually the case when these two sides meet.
However, one thing is less certain and that is whether there will be goals in this game. The overs are heavily juiced and given that there have been a total of 23 goals in the last five meetings between these two clubs, that’s no surprise.

Squad News Liverpool vs Man United
The Reds have a number of injury problems in midfield, especially with Thiagowith a hip problem that will keep him out for a few more weeks, although there are hopes he could return before the international break in March. Arthur is back in training but this game may come too soon for his fitness level after missing most of the season Naby Keita has taken a hit and is doubtful. Joe Gomez also has a knock while Luis Diaz remains shelved with his knee injury.
Manchester United is still without Donny van de Beek And Christian Ericsen due to long-term injuries, but beyond that there are not many problems. Jadon Sancho (fever) and Luke Shaw (Tap) missed the midweek FA Cup game but both have a chance to return here. Anthony Martial is back in training after a long break and could soon be brought back into the squad depending on his fitness level.

Liverpool vs Man United Prediction
- Moneyline Lean: United (+180)
- Lean against the spread: Manchester United -0.5 (-185)
- Outcome Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Man United
Manchester United are the better side, both in recent form and overall, and there’s no reason venue voodoo should play a role in this result as the Red Devils should emerge victorious.
Liverpool should be able to find the back of the net with United suffering more injuries lately than at the start of the season, but ultimately the visitors should put an end to their recent struggles at Anfield.
The title race leaves no room for error and United will know their hopes of catching the top two will essentially evaporate with every point lost in the game.
Liverpool vs Man United: best bet
- Choose: Man United wins
- Opportunities: +180 (BetMGM)
Manchester United are by far the better side at the moment and they’re not exactly close. So it’s child’s play to lead them to victory not only with plus odds, but also as underdogs.
Yes, it’s been tough for the Red Devils at Anfield lately but the friendly borders haven’t exactly been a fortress for Liverpool this season. They have all lost points at home to Chelsea, Leeds, Brighton and Crystal Palace this season, although they managed to stave off most of the defeat.
Still, this United side will aim to have Arsenal and Man City ahead of them and while an 11-point deficit seems insurmountable at this stage of the season, it just means there is very little room for error, and United will knowing they can’t afford to slip up, no matter how hostile the environment.
Liverpool vs Man United Prop Bet
- Choose: Under 4.5 yellow cards
- Opportunities: -142 (BetMGM)
I’ll be honest, the way the odds are set for this game, it was extremely difficult to find an opening. Browse through the booking department and there is very little to be found. Casemiro is understandably a popular pick to book but at +130 his odds offer little value for an event that has still only happened five times in 17 Premier League games.
Six of the last seven games between these two clubs have resulted in exactly three or four maps and 4.5 maps is a high bar to clear. That it’s a rivalry game at Anfield gives me pause and Manchester United are tending to rack up a lot of cards lately, with 13 bookings in their last five games across all competitions. Liverpool aren’t, however, with just nine bookings in that span and they tend to turn the needle off, especially while behind.
Also, referee Andy Madley is a bit lenient. He is 10th in the Premier League with 3.38 yellow cards per game among referees with at least 10 games under his control and has done so in some high caution games lately. In the three Liverpool games he has managed this season, he has cautioned a Reds player just once and cautioned his opponent three times. The value here stinks, but it’s the best game.
