March Madness odds 2023: Updated betting odds for every team to win the NCAA Tournament

Now that the field of this year’s NCAA tournament is officially set, chances are that all 68 teams will have a chance to be the only school lucky enough to drop the nets in Houston on April 3rd. While the field will soon be reduced to 64 teams after completing the First Four matchups on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, it’s still cool to see schools like this Southeastern state of Missouri (+100000) And Howard (+100000) grouped with blue flowers like Kansas (+800) And UCLA (+1200).

In a single-game elimination tournament, surprises are inevitable, giving ambitious bettors a chance to cash in on some juicy underdog sleepers as long as they are able to uncover those capable of killing the giant.

It may be wise to look at the current form for schools in relation to their sowing. A team entering the tournament red hot and perhaps not one of the top seeds could continue their hot streak in March Madness.

Despite finishing at No. 1 last year, eventual national champions Kansas Jayhawks have been among tournament winners in their last five games and 11 of their last 14. Then there’s last season’s runner-up, North Carolina. The Tar Heels won 12 of their last 15 regular season games and followed that up with five tournament wins to reach the National Championship. This is by no means a foolproof strategy, but it could help you win a few extra bucks.

Sure, it would be nice to cash in a +100,000 future bet on Farleigh Dickinson to win the National Championship, but as the odds imply, you’re more likely to rip that ticket than head out to the betting counter to claim your winnings to collect You’re probably better off taking this team against the spread in the first round than betting them to win the whole thing. The payout won’t be nearly as big, but your chances of winning some money are exponentially better.

When it comes to extracting “value”, meaning finding a team whose odds don’t necessarily reflect their abilities, you can still make a valuable bet on a team with lower odds. State of San Diego (+8000) actually enters the tournament field underrated despite being seeded as a fiver. We’ll see if the Aztecs make a run, but their 80-1 odds are tempting.
