Mavericks Odds: How to bet the Dallas Mavericks vs Orlando Magic

The Dallas Mavericks take on the Orlando Magic in their only home game of the 2022-23 season. As of this writing, more of the regular rotation is expected to play, but being pre-season Luka Doncic and co are unlikely to play that much, maybe a half at most. In any case, we’re still thinking about betting on it. Here’s what we think.

Betting on pre-season games can be challenging without knowing which players are suitable for the game. As of this morning, we can expect Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr. to make their preseason debuts, while Davis Bertans will miss his second straight game with a right knee injury. Watch for the return of Luka and THJ to cap turnovers (24 in game one) and lead the Mavs to victory while covering the -8 point spread.

Jaden Hardy: ???? Points

If you didn’t catch Jeffrey’s article from the OKC game, he correctly picked the over on Jaden Hardy’s total (9.5 points) in Game 1. Hardy was the top scorer of the game with 21 points. If you attempt 16 shots in 23 minutes in the first game of preseason, you’ll be firmly placed in the Swaggy P/JR Smith shooter confidence category.

But that’s different because it assumes Luka Doncic is playing a substantial amount… in a preseason game.

As mentioned earlier, the pre-season betting is tough. So hard that we can’t find an available line for Jaden Hardy’s total, but it doesn’t matter because even if we were offered the option to bet over/under a question mark on his total, we’d still be banging on about.

advice:

For Doncic, this is a slight sub-bet. This total score seems to bet that Doncic will play more than 25 minutes. While Luka Doncic will play IN the first half, I wouldn’t expect him to play the entire first half. He could also start in the second half since it’s the Mavericks’ only home game of the preseason, but that score is a little too high for our liking.

Since there’s no Hardy prop we can find, let’s just assume he scores a lot because it’s fun.
