Nashville shooting latest news: Audrey Hale used secret gun cache in shooting captured on police bodycam
Bodycam footage shows Nashville police searching a Christian school for a shooter
Nashville Police Commissioner John Drake said school gunner Audrey Hale was “under medical attention for an emotional disorder” and had hidden seven legally purchased guns in her family’s home.
Chief Drake said three of the guns were used in the horrific incident. He said Hale’s parents knew she had a gun but believed she had sold it and had no other guns.
Earlier, police released graphic bodycam footage of the moment officers shot dead Nashville mass shooting suspect Audrey Hale after six people were killed in an attack on a private Christian elementary school Monday morning.
Students Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all nine, died in the incident, as did principal Katherine Koonce, 60, and staff Cynthia Peak and Mike Hill, both 61.
Police said the suspect, who was armed with two assault rifles and a pistol, was a former student at the school who methodically planned the attack and may have harbored “grudges” against the facility.

Victim Cynthia Peak was a close friend of Tennessee’s first lady, the governor says in a new video
Peak, 61, a substitute teacher at The Covenant School who was shot dead by Audrey Hale on Monday, was a close friend of Bill Lee’s wife Maria Lee.
“What happened at Covenant School was an unimaginable tragedy,” Mr Lee said in a video released Tuesday night.
“Like many of you, I have experienced tragedy in my own life and I have lived the day after that tragedy. I woke up this morning with a very familiar feeling, and I realize that many Tennesseans today are feeling exactly the same thing—the emptiness, the lack of understanding, the desperate need for answers, and the desperate need for hope.
“All of Tennessee was hurt yesterday, but some parents woke up without kids, kids woke up without parents and teachers, and spouses woke up without loved ones.
“Maria woke up this morning without one of her best friends, Cindy Peak.”

“We are going through a very difficult moment. I understand that there is pain. I understand the desperation of having answers, of assigning blame, of arguing about a solution that could prevent this terrible tragedy,” he added.
“There will come a time when you have to wonder how a person could do that. There will come a time to discuss and debate politics.
“But this is not the time for hate or anger. It doesn’t solve or heal. All are hurt, and we remember that when we mourn and walk together, we honor the lost.
