Neymar is at the center of fresh controversy after reportedly clashing with his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates and becoming involved in a heated argument with PSG boss Luis Campos following Saturday’s loss to Monaco.

According to a report published in L’Equipe, Neymar was upset with Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike and reportedly vented his anger on the duo.

Another report in Get Football News France claimed that Campos beat up the players when they returned to the dressing room for not showing aggression.

Neymar and Marquinhos, however, were unhappy with the criticism and fought with Campos.

After the game, manager Christophe Galtier admitted his side lacked intensity, saying: “It lacked intensity. It is the current status of the team. I can’t hide behind that.”

“The state of the team is like this. It’s strange but true. It’s bizarre to say as a PSG manager but it’s the current reality,” he added.

After showing worrying shortcomings in all departments this year, Paris St. Germain must pull themselves together urgently to have a chance in next week’s Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich.

The Ligue 1 leaders had lost three games in 2023, most recently in a 2-1 defeat by bitter rivals Olympique de Marseille in the French Cup round of 16 on Wednesday when they were overwhelmed by the aggressiveness of the Provence side.

With Kylian Mbappe out for another two weeks injured meaning he won’t play Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, PSG have no match winner while Neymar was very disappointing against Marseille.
